Have five (5) years of experience as a security officer, with evidence of successful knowledge of working with students. Have specialized training in security procedures and techniques. Hold and maintain a valid driver's license with no serious violations. Have excellent integrity and demonstrate moral character and initiative. Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary. Respond to the schools under their command on a regular basis, at least once per week, to inspect the guards. (Including Contract Guards) Complete monthly written observations of all the Boards guards under their command. Four visits per school per month. Shall periodically attend emergency drills for efficiency. Shall review all reports prepared by guards under their command prior to being submitted. Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned directly and/or indirectly related to security. Be sure to sign the visitor log upon arrival and departure. Keep a supervisor’s log of all visitations. Provide security officers with all pertinent reports i.e., Day Off, Vacation Request etc. Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
