SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Under general supervision, the Human Resources Specialist performs advanced administrative and records management functions to ensure the integrity of employee data and HRIS platforms, specifically eFinancePlus and the Employee Access Center. The role is responsible for the full lifecycle of personnel documentation, including salary updates, leave tracking, and compliance filings, while managing technical workflows for compensation, temporary staffing, and district-specific athletic programs. Acting as a key point of contact, the Specialist provides high-level customer support via ticketing systems to resolve policy inquiries and troubleshoot system issues. Throughout these duties, the Specialist maintains strict confidentiality of labor relations information and supports district goals through rigorous data auditing, cross-functional team collaboration, and the preparation of board-level reporting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Records & Database Management: Perform advanced administrative functions, including the creation and maintenance of employee records and HR databases in strict compliance with district policies and data privacy laws.
  • HRIS Administration: Manage HRIS systems (e.g., eFinancePlus), overseeing plan year and calendar configurations, troubleshooting system issues, and supporting Employee Access Center (EAC) inquiries.
  • Data Integrity & Auditing: Execute critical data processes such as annual rollovers, salary updates, and leave tracking; perform regular audits and reporting to ensure total data accuracy.
  • Technical & Employee Support: Provide high-level customer service via ticketing systems and one-on-one assistance to resolve inquiries and explain HR policies.
  • Specialized Documentation: Process PSLF requests, 403(b)/457 retirement forms, and personnel files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and secure.
  • Staffing & Onboarding: Support temporary staffing processes, including hiring, onboarding, and the administration of employee identification badges.
  • Program Coordination: Facilitate compensation processing for athletic programs and clubs, while assisting in the preparation of HR-related board materials and reports.
  • Confidentiality & Professionalism: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive labor relations information and promote a collaborative, professional work environment through cross-training and knowledge sharing.
  • District Alignment: Support organizational goals by performing other assigned duties and working extended hours as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • HR Expertise: Extensive knowledge of staffing, recruitment, records management, and the administration of insurance benefits (health, dental, life, AD&D, and disability).
  • Compliance & Law: Deep understanding of workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, and the laws and data privacy acts impacting HR activities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in HRIS platforms, spreadsheet software, and office productivity tools to manage data with speed and accuracy.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to review complex documents, extract relevant information, and prepare data-driven reports.
  • Communication & Support: Exceptional oral and written communication skills used to advise staff and resolve HR-related inquiries.
  • Service & Collaboration: A strong commitment to effective customer service and the ability to establish productive working relationships with colleagues and clients.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business, or related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by Human Resources. Master's degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience in human resources, preferably in school district jobs and organization preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by Human Resources.
  • Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is preferred.
